check this out–After load in and soundcheck at Andy’s Bar in Denton last night, Sideshow Tragedy settled in at the bar to await set time, and I grabbed a Dallas Observer (the local alt weekly) to see if the paper wrote anything nice (or shitty) about us…as I perused the paper, my eyes passed over an ad for the Cavern, and there in big bold letters, it said:

friday June 19
THE SIDESHOW TRAGEDY

I called the club to see if it was a misprint; it wasn’t. I called our agent to see if they booked it and forgot; they didn’t. Hillwolf checked his computer phone to see if there was in existence another band called Sideshow Tragedy; there isn’t. We have no idea how this happened, and I was worried that somehow this was going to reflect negatively upon us, and then the Wolf said: “You know, we’re not scheduled to go on until 12:45, and we’ll be finished in Denton by 11:30…we could feasibly make it.” Eureka! I thought. This plan was crazy and awesome, so we did it: played in Denton, kissed everyone goodbye, loaded up Brenda (intrepid rocknroll mobile par excellence), and drove to Dallas. We rolled up to the Cavern at 12:15, tossed the gear on the stage, and played another set for an unsuspecting and totally surprised audience…thanks for the extra gig Cavern! Tonight we play at City Tavern in Dallas (this show was planned), should be a great time, more later folks…
